eologInnen-Zentrum und der Eröffnungsliturgie im Sacellum kamen zu den
Hauptvorträgen von Ulrike E. Auga und Silke B. Geppert zahlreiche Inter
essierte.
Ulrike Auga, Theologin und Kulturwissenschaftlerin, die momentan
eine Gastprofessur in Salzburg innehat, referierte über Performativit&a
uml;t und Handlungsmacht von Geschlecht und Religion in Mali. Sie betonte, d
ass der dortige Islam trotz oftmaliger negativer medialer Berichterstattung&
nbsp; bunt sei, und dass sich diese Buntheit auch in der weiblichen Mode zei
ge. So tragen Frauen in Mali meist nicht ein klassisches Kopftuch, sondern e
her einen traditionell afrikanischen Turban.
Die Kunst- und Kostümhist
orikerin Silke Geppert führte die Zuhörer in das Thema „Mode
und/als Religion“ ein. Ihr zufolge ist das Modesystem heute mit dem S
ystem des Heiligen und Religiösen verwandt. So bürgerten sich &uum
l;ber die letzten Jahrzehnte religiöse Begriffe in der Modeszene ein, w
ie beispielsweise „Modepapst“ oder „Schönheitsgö
ttin“. Kaufhäuser wie „Au Printemps“ in Paris orienti
eren sich am sakralen Bau - vermehrt finden auch Modeschauen in Gotteshä

Moser Trachten) über Modeproduktion zwischen Nachhaltigkeit und kultureller Vielfalt sprachen. Schlosser stellte beispielsweise die türkische und österreichische Tracht gegenüber. Abrari zeigte auf, dass man in der Modeindustrie meist unethisch produziere, und dass der Trend „Greenwashing“ eine reine Marketingstrategie sei. Sie betonte: „Auch bei großen Labels bedeutet teuer nicht gleich fair.“
