schbaum seine Promotionsurkunde. „Kirchenkunst im 19. Jahrhundert in d
er Erzdiözese Salzburg - Erhaltenes, Verschwundenes und Wiedererstanden
es“ so der Titel seiner Dissertation in Kunstgeschichte. An der Feier
nahmen neben Erzbischof Franz Lackner auch zahlreiche weitere Domkapitulare
und Vertreter der Erzdiözese teil.
In seiner umfangreichen Doktorarbei
t beleuchtet Kerschbaum eine bewegte Zeitepoche, die auch in der Erzdiö
zese Salzburg geprägt ist von verschiedenen geisteswissenschaftlichen S
trömungen und vielfältigen Baustilen wie Neogotik, Neoromanik oder
Neorenaissance. Der Diözesankonservator beschäftigt sich mit der
Genese der Gebäude, der Stilwahl und die bis in die Gegenwart reichende
Bewertung historischer Kunst. Beachtung finden auch die Zusammenhänge
mit der Herz Jesu- oder Marienverehrung.
