ger Oberhirte. Auch das Gottesvolk Israel lebte in einer Zeit der Hoffnung u
nd der Erwartung. „Es vertraute darauf, dass Gott sein Wort wahr mache
n wird“, so Lackner. Als Christinnen und Christen glaubten wir daran,
dass dieses Versprechen in Jesus Christus eingelöst werde.
Die Armen s
eien Teil dieser Welt und Teil unseres Glaubens, sie zeigten klar und deutli
ch, worum es im Kern des Evangeliums gehe. „Beim ersten Auftreten Jesu
im Lukasevangelium heißt es programmatisch: Ich bin gesandt, ‚d
amit ich den Armen eine frohe Botschaft bringe (Lk 4,18)‘“.
Die
von der Katholischen Männerbewegung gegründete Aktion „Sei
so frei“ habe sich zum Ziel gesetzt, den Armen zu helfen. „Zum J
ubiläum dieser wichtigen kirchlichen Hilfsaktion möchte ich ganz b

Der mit 10.000 Euro dotierte Óscar-Romero-Preis 2018 ist heuer an den Peruaner Francisco San Martín verliehen worden. Die entwicklungspolitische Aktion „Sei so frei“ der Katholischen Männerbewegung Österreich (KMBÖ) vergibt den Preis jährlich an Personen, die sich in besonderer Weise für Gerechtigkeit, Menschenrechte und Entwicklung in den Ländern der sogenannten Dritten Welt einsetzen. San Martín ermöglichte in zahlreichen Entwicklungsprojekten Tausenden Menschen in Armut ein nachhaltiges Einkommen und Arbeitsplätze. Der an den salvadorianischen Märtyrerbischof Óscar Romero (1917–1980) erinnernde Romero-Preis wird seit 1980 an Personen vergeben, die sich in besonderer Weise für Gerechtigkeit und Menschenrechte einsetzen. Romero wurde am 14. Oktober 2018 in Rom von Papst Franziskus heiliggesprochen.
