Salzach am Elisabethkai ein.
Am 22. Jänner findet um 18 Uhr in der Ser
bisch-Orthodoxen Kirche (Schmiedingerstr. 48) ein ökumenischer Gottesdi
enst statt. Mitfeiern werden Weihbischof Hansjörg Hofer, der evangelisc
he Superintendent Olivier Dantine, Bischof Andrej Cilerdicz (serb.-orth.), P
farrer Dumitru Viezuianu (rumän.-orth.) und Pastor Lothar Pöll (ev
ang.-meth.). Die Weltgebetswoche schließt am 25. Jänner um 19 Uhr
mit einer Byzantinischen Vesper in der Rumänisch-orthodoxen Kirche (Ro
binigstr. 42) ab. Die Gestaltung haben die Ukrainisch griechisch-katholische
Kirche und die Rumänisch-Orthodoxe Kirche über.

statt. Während der Gebetswoche kommen weltweit Christen aus unterschied

Hintergrund
Von 18. bis 25. Jänner findet die Weltgebetswoche für die Einheit der Christen statt. Während der Gebetswoche kommen weltweit Christen aus unterschiedlichen Konfessionen zusammen, um gemeinsam für die Einheit der Christenheit zu beten. Das internationale Leitthema der Woche ist heuer dem biblischen Buch Deuteronomium entnommen („Gerechtigkeit, Gerechtigkeit - ihr sollst du nachjagen“) und wurde von einer ökumenischen Gruppe in Indonesien ausgewählt bzw. erarbeitet.
Im Vorfeld der Weltgebetswoche findet seit vielen Jahren am 17. Jänner der „Tag des Judentums“ statt. Das Christentum ist in seinem Selbstverständnis wesentlich mit dem Judentum verbunden; damit dies den Christen immer deutlicher bewusst wird, hat der ÖRKÖ im Jahr 2000 den „17. Jänner - Tag des Judentums“ als Gedenktag im Kirchenjahr eingeführt. Dabei sollen sich die Christen in besonderer Weise ihrer Weggemeinschaft mit dem Judentum bewusst werden und zugleich des von ihnen an jüdischen Menschen und ihrem Glauben begangenen Unrechts in der Geschichte gedenken. Den Geist dieses Tages sollen die Kirchen anschließend in die weltweite „Gebetswoche für die Einheit der Christen“ weiter tragen.
