Anlass für die Umgestaltung des Kapelleninnenraums war eine anstehende
Renovierung, heißt es von Seiten der Pfarre. Künstler und Direkto
r des Musikums Salzburg, Michael Alexander Seywald, wohnt selbst in der Pfar
re St. Paul und bot der Pfarre das von ihm gestaltete Werk an.
Das von Seyw
ald geschaffene raumgroße Auferstehungsbild zeigt drei Figuren. &bdquo
;Eine dunkle Figur ist eingebettet in versteinerte und dennoch lebendige Str
ukturen. Diese symbolisieren den Tod und das Grab Jesu Christi“, erkl&
auml;rt der Künstler. Die zweite Figur, „der strahlende Christus&
ldquo;, ist ohne Hände dargestellt. „Die Hände stehen fü
;r das Irdische, das Tun und für das Schaffen. Dieser Jesus hat das Tun
abgelegt und ist im Begriff, voll im göttlichen Sein aufzugehen“
, so Seywald. Die dritte Figur schließlich drücke dieses göt
tliche Sein aus, „den Ursprung, das Unergründliche und das Unbesc
hreibbare“.
Das kurz vor der Karwoche fertiggestellte Bild steht nich
t nur für sich selbst, macht Seywald deutlich. Ein vor 23 Jahren gespen
detes Marienbild – es zeigt die Gottesmutter mit Jesuskind – ist
Teil der von Seywald erdachten und umgesetzten Installation.
„Das Ma
rienbild steht für die Geburt Christi. Geburt, Tod und Auferstehung sin
d damit jene entscheidenden Ereignisse, die in der Werktagskapelle verhandel
t werden.“
Seywald ist Landesdirektor des Musikums Salzburg sowie Lei
ter des Paul Hofhaimer Consorts und wohnt in der Pfarre St. Paul.

Künstler und Direktor des Musikums Salzburg, Michael Alexander Seywald, wohnt selbst in der Pfarre St. Paul und bot der Pfarre das von ihm gestaltete Werk an.
Das von Seywald geschaffene raumgroße Auferstehungsbild zeigt drei Figuren. „Eine dunkle Figur ist eingebettet in versteinerte und dennoch lebendige Strukturen. Diese symbolisieren den Tod und das Grab Jesu Christi“, erklärt der Künstler. Die zweite Figur, „der strahlende Christus“, ist ohne Hände dargestellt. „Die Hände stehen für das Irdische, das Tun und für das Schaffen. Dieser Jesus hat das Tun abgelegt und ist im Begriff, voll im göttlichen Sein aufzugehen“, so Seywald. Die dritte Figur schließlich drücke dieses göttliche Sein aus, „den Ursprung, das Unergründliche und das Unbeschreibbare“.
Das kurz vor der Karwoche fertiggestellte Bild steht nicht nur für sich selbst, macht Seywald deutlich. Ein vor 23 Jahren gespendetes Marienbild – es zeigt die Gottesmutter mit Jesuskind – ist Teil der von Seywald erdachten und umgesetzten Installation.
„Das Marienbild steht für die Geburt Christi. Geburt, Tod und Auferstehung sind damit jene entscheidenden Ereignisse, die in der Werktagskapelle verhandelt werden.“
Seywald ist Landesdirektor des Musikums Salzburg sowie Leiter des Paul Hofhaimer Consorts und wohnt in der Pfarre St. Paul.
