stand 1723 </b>
Die „Johannespassion“ entstand 1723 und wa
r Johann Sebastian Bachs Antrittsarbeit für die neue Stelle als Kantor
der Leipziger Thomaskirche. Die Uraufführung fand am Karfreitag 1724 in
der Nikolaikirche Leipzig statt. „Das Werk steht in der Tradition ,or
atorischer‘ Passionen, die seit dem 17. Jahrhundert weit verbreitet wa
ren“, sagt Stiftskapellmeister Peter Peinstingl. „Bei Bach nehme
n Arien einen breiten Raum ein, den Instrumentalstellen wird größ
ere Bedeutung beigemessen.“ Bach hat den Text selbst zusammengestellt
und dabei das Johannesevangelium durch Verse aus dem Mattäusevangelium
ergänzt. In den Evangelienbericht eingefügt sind Choräle nach
evangelischen Kirchenliedern sowie Arien und Chorsätze nach Texten gei
stlicher Dichter.
<b>Konzert mit „sozialem Hintergedanken&ldquo
; </b>
Da die Stiftskirche von St. Peter zurzeit wegen Renovierung ges
chlossen ist, sucht sich die Stiftsmusik Ausweichspielorte. Meist ist es die
Kirche vom Stift Nonnberg, am Samstag vor dem Palmsonntag sind die Musikeri
nnen und Musiker in St. Andrä zu hören und haben einen „sozi
alen Hintergedanken“: Als Eintrittskarte dient eine Straßenzeitu
ng von „Apropos“ – erhältlich unter anderem direkt vo
r dem Konzert beim Kircheneingang. Das Konzert kommt durch die Kooperation m
it dem Referat für Stadtpastoral der Erzdiözese Salzburg zustande.
