Der Erzbischof-Rohracher-Studienfonds wird alle drei Jahre v
om Archiv der Erzdiözese Salzburg für bemerkenswerte Arbeiten verg
eben. Archiv-Leiter Thomas Mitterecker lobt die Auszeichnung als „ehrw
ürdig“ und sagt: „Wer sie erhält, befindet sich in ill
ustrer Runde.“ Träger der Auszeichnung sind etwa Prof. Clemens Ho
lzmeister (1977), Prof. Karl Amon (1998) oder Erzbischof Alois Kothgasser (2
013).
Andreas Rohracher (1892 – 1976), ein gebürtiger Lienzer, s
tand der Erzdiözese Salzburg von 1943 bis 1969 als Oberhirte vor. Den F
onds richtete sein Nachfolger Eduard Macheiner ein; Ziel ist die Förder
ung von Forschungen auf den Gebieten von Kirchengeschichte, -recht, Kunst- u
nd Musikgeschichte sowie für pastorale Aufgaben.
