      r das „Große Verdienstzeichen des Landes Salzburg“. Mit de
      m biblischen Appell an alle Katholiken „Fürchtet euch nicht&ldquo
      ; stellte die neue Präsidentin Elisabeth Mayer ihr Programm vor. Erzbis
      chof Franz Lackner würdigte die KA als „eine Stimme für die 
      Würde des Menschen“.
„Die Katholische Aktion ist der gesel
      lschaftspolitische Arm der Kirche, der sich in politische Debatten einmischt
      “, sagte der Theologe Alois Halbmayr in seinem Vortrag. Eine relative 
      Unabhängigkeit von der Hierarchie sei notwendig, „weil auch Hiera
      rchie Korrektur braucht“. Die KA sollte als „Salz der Erde&ldquo
      ; wirken und damit zeigen, was der Heilsauftrag heute bedeutet. „Ich w
      ünsche mir eine große Portion Unzeitgemäßheit“, 
      schloss Halbmayr.
Die im Sommer zur Nachfolgerin von Doris Witzmann als KA-
      Präsidentin gewählte ehemalige ORF-Journalistin Elisabeth Mayer be
      tonte, dass die Abkürzung KA für sie auch „Keine Angst&ldquo
      ; bedeute. Gerade heute sei die Gesellschaft von vielfältigen Ängs
      ten geprägt, „und mit dem Versprechen, dass es wieder so wird, wi
      e es einmal war, werden Wahlen gewonnen“, stellte Mayer in ihrem Grund
      satzreferat fest. Aufgabe der KA sei es daher, den Menschen Hoffnung zu verm

Die beiden neuen Vizepräsidenten, Johannes Huber und Gunter Mackinger, bekräftigten ihren Einsatz als Ehrenamtliche für die vielen Kinder, Jugendlichen, Frauen und Männer in der KA. Aus dem Lebenslauf von Doris Witzmann skizzierte Wolfgang Filip, Obmann der Aktion Leben, die wichtigsten Stationen. „Sie ist eine gute Zuhörerin, ungemein fleißig und ein Vorbild im Ehrenamt“, betonte er. Genau diese langjährige ehrenamtliche Arbeit bedankte Landeshauptmann Wilfried Haslauer mit der Landesauszeichnung: „Den Menschen das Gefühl zu geben, ihr werdet gebraucht, ihr seid wichtig, das lebt Doris Witzmann vor“, stellte er fest.

Die Geehrte selbst zeigte sich sehr berührt von der Auszeichnung. „Damit wird das ehrenamtliche Engagement vieler Ehrenamtlicher mitgewürdigt“, sagte sie. Auch Erzbischof Franz Lackner dankte ihr für ihren Einsatz: „Als Christen müssen wir uns in der Gesellschaft einbringen, ohne Oberlehrer sein zu wollen“. Daher sei er für die Arbeit der KA sehr dankbar. Musikalisch gestaltete die Gruppe „FiveTOGo“ den Abend.
