Andreas Laun, der sich für einen Wahlwerber ausgesprochen hat
. Erzbischof Lackner betonte hingegen in seiner Stellungnahme, dass die Kirc
he allen Österreicherinnen und Österreichern zutraue, selbst - nac
h bestem Wissen und Gewissen - ihre Entscheidung zu treffen.
Kardinal
Christoph Schönborn hatte in seiner Stellungnahme am Donnerstag u.a. e
rklärt, dass zwar jeder das Recht habe, eine Wahlempfehlung abzugeben,
auch ein Bischof. Trotzdem habe die katholische Kirche in der Vergangenheit
auf Wahlempfehlungen verzichtet, "und die Erfahrung hat uns gelehrt, dass di
es sinnvoll ist, auch - oder gerade besonders - bei der Bundespräsident
enwahl 2016, an deren Stichwahl das erste Mal in der Geschichte der Zweiten
Republik kein katholischer Kandidat teilnimmt".
