Pfarrprovisor in Mariapfarr. „Wir sind einer der wenigen Orte, wo die Pfarre
in den Namen des Ortes eingegangen ist“, berichtete der Priester. 2018 wurd
e die Kirche von Papst Franziskus zur „Basilica minor“ erhoben. Ein Verdiens
t von Pfarrer Bernhard Rohrmoser und der Gemeinde.</p>
<h2>Inspiration für
„Stille Nacht“?</h2>
<p>Die Kirche verbindet romanische und gotische Elemen
te; wertvolle Wandmalereien, Altarwerke, barocke Altäre sowie gotische Holzs
chnitzereien. Auch das Erbe von Joseph Mohr, Mitverfasser von „Stille Nacht“
, ist hier zu finden. „Vieles spricht dafür, dass Joseph Mohr das Lied hier
gedichtet hat. Darunter der Knabe im lockigen Haar“, sagte P. Paul und deute
te auf die Anbetung der Könige im unteren linken Tafelbild des Hauptaltares
und auf einem Wandfresko im Mittelschiff: der Jesusknabe mit blondem, lockig
em Haar.</p>
<h2>Heilige Maria, Mutter Gottes</h2>
<p>„Zentrum in unserer
Kirche ist Maria. Auf sie läuft alles hin“, erklärte der Franziskaner. Zwei
entscheidende Darstellungen seien erwähnt: „Im Hauptaltar sehen wir das spät
gotische Mariengnadenbild, auf dem Wandfresko rechts des Hauptaltars ein Sch
utzmantel-Madonnenfresko mit dem seltenen Motiv des Schmerzensmannes in Kind
sgröße.“</p>

Glaube, Kunst, Geschichte
Unter Pfarrer Bernhard Rohrmoser wurden in Mariapfarr in den letzten Jahrzehnten Pfarrhof und Kirche restauriert und das pastorale Angebot ausgebaut. Mit P. Paul ist danach neue pastorale Energie eingezogen. Im Jubeljahr ist Mariapfarr ein lebendiger Ort geistlicher Heimat – dazu schaffen der Pfarrprovisor und die Männer und Frauen der Mariapfarrer Kirche Orte der Begegnung, wie man zum „Pilger der Hoffnung“ werden kann.
