      uo. Kardinal Christoph Schönborn emeritiert zu seinem 80. Geburtstag als Wie
      ner Erzbischof. Bei der Ski-WM in Saalbach sind auch Pfarrer Rudolf Weberndo

<p>Mit Gebeten und Segen für die großen Aufgaben begle
      iten heimische Bischöfe die Angelobung der neuen Bundesregierung. Die Auswer
      tung der Dreikönigsaktion der Sternsinger bringt einen Spendenrekord von 20,
      5 Millionen Euro österreichweit, davon mehr als zwei Millionen aus der Erzdi
      özese Salzburg. Die Salzburger Erzabtei St. Peter hat mit P. Jakob Auer seit
       dem 12. April einen neuen Erzabt. Er folgt auf Korbinian Birnbacher. Prior 
      wird P. Virgil Steindlmüller. Familienbischof Hemann Glettler lädt in Salzbu
      rg zur zweiten österreichweiten Ehekonferenz. Trauer in der katholischen Kir
      che und weit darüber hinaus: Am Ostermontag (21. April) um 7.35 Uhr stirbt P
      apst Franziskus im Alter von 88 Jahren. Das Pontifikat des Jesuiten aus Arge
      ntinien dauerte zwölf Jahre.</p>

Die Auswertung der Dreikönigsaktion der Sternsinger bringt einen Spendenrekord von 20,5 Millionen Euro österreichweit, davon mehr als zwei Millionen aus der Erzdiözese Salzburg. Die Salzburger Erzabtei St. Peter hat mit P. Jakob Auer seit dem 12. April einen neuen Erzabt. Er folgt auf Korbinian Birnbacher. Prior wird P. Virgil Steindlmüller. Familienbischof Hemann Glettler lädt in Salzburg zur zweiten österreichweiten Ehekonferenz. Trauer in der katholischen Kirche und weit darüber hinaus: Am Ostermontag (21. April) um 7.35 Uhr stirbt Papst Franziskus im Alter von 88 Jahren. Das Pontifikat des Jesuiten aus Argentinien dauerte zwölf Jahre.

Generalvikar Harald Mattel präsentiert ein neues Leitbild für die Erzdiözese Salzburg (siehe www.edsbg.at/erzdioezese/leitbild). In ganz Österreich wird an das Kriegsende vor 80 Jahren erinnert und das Jubiläum „70 Jahre Staatsvertrag“ gefeiert. Weißer Rauch über der Sixtinischen Kapelle, am 8. Mai endet das Konklave im Vatikan. Die Kardinäle haben mit Papst Leo XIV. (bürgerlich Robert Francis Prevost - im Bild oben) erstmals einen US-Amerikaner zum Oberhaupt der römisch-katholischen Kirche gewählt. Durch sein langjähriges Wirken in Südamerika besitzt der 69-jährige Ordensmann der Augustiner auch die peruanische Staatsbürgerschaft. Das Rupertusblatt beginnt zu seinem 80-Jahr-Jubiläum damit, Botinnen und Boten der Hoffnung in den Pfarren mit Porträts vor den Vorhang zu holen.

Juni bis Dezember

Die Österreichische Benediktinerkongregation mit 14 Klöstern und 250 Ordensmännern feiert ihr 400-Jahr-Jubiläum. Der tödliche Amoklauf an einer Schule in Graz mit elf Todesopfern stürzt am 10. Juni das Land in Trauer. „Es fehlen einem die Worte und dennoch darf es kein Schweigen geben“, sagt Erzbischof Franz Lackner zur Herausforderung, aus der Ohnmacht zu Trost und Hoffnung zu finden. Mit einer Festwoche rund um den 30. Juni lässt Salzburg seine Diözesan- und Landespatronin Erentrudis hochleben siehe Karikatur). Als Wertschätzung in den Bereichen Bildung, karitative Projekte, Kunst und Kultur wird an vier Ehrenamtliche erstmals der neu ins Leben gerufene „Erentrudis-Orden“ der Erzdiözese vergeben. Wechsel in der Ordinariatskanzlei: Sr. Christine Nigg folgt als Kanzlerin der Erzdiözese Salzburg auf Elisabeth Kandler-Mayr.

Reform: Die Erzdiözese zieht flächendeckend die Strukturebene „Pfarrverband“ ein – mit insgesamt 58 Pfarrverbänden in 16 Dekanaten in Tirol und Salzburg. Zum Fest der heiligen Diözesanpatrone Rupert und Virgil samt Rupertikirtag steht auch das Jubiläum 200 Jahre Salzburger Domkapitel im Fokus. Mit Josef Johann Pletzer und Simon Weyringer werden dabei zwei neue Domkapitulare aufgenommen. Das Warten in der Erzdiözese Wien hat ein Ende. Aus dem Vatikan wird bestätigt, dass Josef Grünwidl als neuer Erzbischof auf den emeritierten Kardinal Christoph Schönborn folgen wird. Zum Christkönigsfest am 28. Oktober 1945 ging der erste „Rupertibote“ als Vorläufer des heutigen „Rupertusblattes“ in Druck. Wir feiern 80 Jahre! In der Salzburger Erzabtei St. Peter werden mit der Segnung der neuen Hauptorgel die langjährigen Renovierungen (seit 2018) abgeschlossen – nicht nur für die Verantwortlichen ein „Jahrhundertereignis“. Für 2026 angekündigt werden zwei Personalentscheidungen in der Erzdiözese: Im Seelsorgeamt folgt im August Martin Seidler auf Lucia Greiner (Ruhestand). Sein Nachfolger als erzbischöflicher Sekretär wird der aus Tirol stammende Priester und Olympia-Seelsorger Johannes Lackner. Zum Ende des Heiligen Jahres 2025 kommt die Vorfreude auf das Franziskusjahr 2026.
